This morning we visited Acen, a not-for-profit company who help people learn Welsh.
They have enthusiastically embraced the internet and new media, and are using the technologies available to their full potential.
They currently run an internet radio station, Radio Acen FM, which is an automated station and administered from Greece. They also send a daily Welsh lesson out via SMS, and a new application built in Flash.
In the application the user is given a program, and can watch a full episode with the script scrolling along side. The lines can be clicked on and are repeated if anything has been missed. I only got a glimpse of this but it looked really interesting, but I'm sure that it would take a lot of work for each program. More details here.
The visit was well worth it, but it would have been nice to delve deeper into the workings of all the different technologies.
